Washing-straining machines
The washing-straining machine is used for the washing and straining of sandy materials, in order to eliminate the fine and muddy particles.
Operating principle
The soiled material, together with the muddy washing water, enters the turbulence tank next to the calm basin. The solid particles that fall to the bottom of the tank, are collected by the first axial discharging wheel, they are then partially strained and transferred to the subsequent tank, in which the second axial discharge wheel operates, following an intense mixing action in turbulent conditions, they are then taken again for rinsing in the last tank, into which clean water is introduced. There is a wheel in operation here that is fitted with radial discharge cups, that collects the material, strains it, and then discharges it in a perfectly clean state. The clean water that is sent to the last tank overflows, in a counter-current with the solid material, in the previous tanks to combine in the first turbulence tank with all the water introduced into the washing machine, together with the material to be treated. From this tank all the water is sent to the stilling basin, where a four-principle screw feeder slowly rotates. Inside this stilling basin, the fine and ultra fine sand falls to the bottom of the same, and is gently propelled by the screw feeder toward the first axial cup wheel.
Only the muddy particles and extremely fine particles that are detrimental to the concrete are not deposited and are eliminated together with the water, which overflows from an overflow rim that is located at the top of the stilling basin.
